Ellen Koehler, LCSW
Ellen Koehler, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Rutgers University and a master’s degree in social work from New York University. Ellen has a 20 year history working in the home health and hospice fields, both as a visiting clinician and an administrator. She holds certificates in Advanced Care Planning and Advanced Palliative and Hospice Social Work. Ellen is also a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Essex County Conversations of Your Life (COYL) Task Force, whose mission is to develop a community conversation around the kind of care we want to receive and how we can plan ahead.
Ellen’s approach is person centered and compassion focused. She has extensive experience working with clients facing chronic medical issues, caregiver stress, grief and bereavement. Treatment approaches include elements of cognitive behavioral and solution focused therapies as well as legacy work and life review.
Ellen enjoys cooking, reading, tap dancing, spending time with family, friends, and her 2 cats.
